Welsh Triathlon Academy Athletes Dominate the Welsh Cross Country Championships

  


Morgan Davies and Megan Withers both take the honours at Singleton Park in the Welsh Cross Country Championships.


Megan Withers was out to continue her fine winter on a course which obviously suited her good pace judgement. Having headed the field from the top of the first hill the diminutive West Walian gradually drew away from the opposition for a very emphatic win by over a minute.


Morgan Davies who has also had an excellent winter on the country dominated a very strong under 17 men's field.

British Aquathlon Championships at Salford Quays

Clumber race is a Classic

The Clumber Classic Duathlon attracted a high class field and some fast racing on Saturday, 6 March. The lure of National titles, National Ranking points as well as European and World qualifier slots attracted some of the biggest names in the sport. Olympic rowing Champion, James Cracknell, OBE was amongst those gunning for a place at the 2010 Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships in September.

The next Welsh Academy Day will be held on Sunday 21st March.  Swimming will be at Atlantic College, Llanwit Major, followed by cycling and running on the Llandow Race Circuit.  Exact times to be confirmed shortly.

Registration for European Age Group events now open

British Triathlon is pleased to announce that registration for the 2011 ETU Triathlon European Championships and 2010 Myjava ETU Cross Triathlon European Championships in Slovakia is now open.  Once again, the 2011 ETU Triathlon European Championships will feature both Standard and Sprint distance racing with athletes having three chances to qualify for each discipline.

Strong Scottish contingent likely to compete at Strathclyde Country Park

Scottish triathlon trio Kerry Lang, Kirsty McWilliam and David McNamee have signalled their intent to race in the British Triathlon Super Series event at Strathclyde Park, North Lanarkshire. The 2014 Commonwealth Games venue will also be hosting a leg of the 2010 ITU Triathlon European Cup.  The event will be held on the Sunday 23 May 2010 and signifies the first ever ITU Triathlon European Cup event to be held in Scotland.

The Road to Rio Starts Here

British Triathlon launches the 2010 GB Paratriathlon Performance Squad, as the sport aims to build a World Class infrastructure in the build up to the Paralympics in Rio 2016. In December 2009, the International Paralympic Committee confirmed the sport was to be formally considered for inclusion in the Rio 2016 Games Sports Programme, and British Triathlon is wasting no time in implementing a new performance structure.
