10 Useful Facts About The Cheshire Triathlon

Swimming at Nantwich

I've now competed in the Cheshire Triathlon three times, like all Fun2Tri events it's popular and well organised. However, there's always something that you miss or that's not mentioned in the official documentation so I hope this will help anyone who's not competed here before.  The Cheshire Triathlon is run in Nantwich and it's an unusual race because there are two seperate transition areas, one near the pool and the other in Barony Park.

  1. You can park on Barony Park, the entrance is at the corner of Barony Road and Park View
  2. Parking has always been free but a small charity donation is expected, so get your change ready
  3. There are clean toilets, decent showers and changing facilities near the carpark
  4. You register at the Finish Line near the Bike/Run Transition, you'll get a carrier bag for your swimming goggles etc.
  5. While you're there take your running kit to the Bike/Run Transition

  1. It takes a good 10 minutes to get from the Park to the Pool, leave plenty of time
  2. Swim/Bike Transition is very busy so you won't be able to rack your bike until 15 minutes before your start time
  3. There are good, clean toilets at the Pool
  4. The pool is an outdoor, brine pool and it's never been particularly cold
  5. Bring your family, the run is four laps of the Park so there's plenty of cheering opportunities.

Of course, this information is based on experience of previous races so things may not be the same in future years.

If you've done this race before and have something to add, if you've found these notes useful or if you're off to the race this year then why not leave a comment.
