Here I plan to sum up two days of training as I never got as far as filling you in on yesterday's efforts. So, that's two sessions from yesterday and one from today so far unreported!
Yesterday morning I was up and out on my bike again. I was feeling rather tired and I tarried a while in front of the telly with Daniel, but was still out just around half six. I did about 55 minutes which seemed plenty. I enjoyed being out there, just taking things steady and feeling the rhythm of my legs as they went around. It can be a bit like a meditation when I'm not really pushing and my mind wanders off all over the place. Many a good idea can be arrived at when cycling cheerfully along the highways and byways of Leeds.
Then in the evening I was at the tri-club running session. For which you have to thank today's title. Well, it's mostly Morgan's fault for keeping asking us if everyone was happy with what we were to do next. There were definitely times when the definition of happy needed a little work! He had us doing all kinds of strange things, giving April plenty to laugh at as she ran past with the Juniors. We were jumping about like Tigger and sprinting out of it and generally behaving in a very odd fashion. Still, it was good fun, caused some hilarity at times and no doubt gave us a good work out at the same time. It's good to have some fun and train at the same time - something of a revelation for the girl who hated P.E. at school and never really got into the idea of exercising with anybody else. The track sessions are genuinely fun, but also push me. I mean, when else would I even attempt to run 400m flat out? Phew!
Today I headed back out on my bike and immediately remembered Morgan's question about happiness, it just felt great to be speeding down our hill, setting off on another journey. It was reasonably warm, pleasant to be out there and I felt the freedom and pleasure of getting out there. I love the space, the time to be by myself and simply to be myself. I did just over an hour and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good stuff!
